Usage Instructions

Opening the Application

Find "/WindowsNoEditor/P0044_01Liverpool/Binaries/Win64/P0044_01Liverpool.exe" in the install directory and double click.

Use the on screen buttons to navigate the BONC areas of interest.

Movement States

Within the application there are two primary movement states, they are described simply as follows:

  • No Gravity (flying)
  • With Gravity (walking)

Use the F key to toggle between states

At some points in the application, you will be in a special state. These include the point where you are orbiting the city, and during fly-throughs. At these points, your movement is locked, however you can still use the mouse or touchscreen to look around. See directions for doing so below.


The following keys allow you to move around in the virtual world

  • W: forward
  • A: left
  • S: backwards
  • D: right

Looking (changing the direction your virtual head is pointing)

  • Use the mouse (or your finger on a touchscreen) and left-click and drag to look around. Take it slowly, this can take some practice to get used to.

Options Menu

  • Press the ESC key to view the menu
  • Resume: Will close the menu and return you to the environment
  • Restart: Selecting this option will
  • Exit:  Will quit the application and return you to Windows

Adjusting the window resolution

Toggling between fullscreen and windowed modes is by pressing the ALT+ENTER keys.

Adjusting the resolution is generally only necessary when using new hardware, such as a different monitor or projector that can use only specific resolutions or aspect ratios.

To open the console, use the tilde ( ~ ) key, positioned just above the TAB key on your keyboard.

Console command: setres <width>x<height>
Example: setres 1920x1080


If the application appears to have lost its graphical user interface, this is a known issue and can be simply refreshed by clicking in the top right of the display.

Below is the reduced functionality web enabled version of the Liverpool City Council 3D model. Please ensure you are using one of the following web browsers on a desktop computer:

  • Internet Explorer 11+
  • Firefox
  • Chrome
